March 13th - Walter

This was in interesting painting session.  The reference for this session was my pet bird Walter (on top of my easel).  The fascinating thing about painting a parrot like this is that you have to treat it somewhat like a normal portrait of a person.  His face contains a lot of expression and it can be technically challenging to capture it.  It is also very difficult whenever you are working with very intense colors that are interacting with one another like they are in his feathers.  That also makes it a blast to paint though ;).  Here's the reference:

March 6th - Marie

This particular day was the first ever worldwide painting session. I thought that I would start things off correctly with a quick sketch of my wife. I set her up in person and then took a photo that was similar to what I was seeing. I think I shifted her somewhat in the setup process by accident and she appeared more straight on to me but it doesn't matter because I didn't get far with my sketch anyway!

Everyone else did a wonderful job and completed much more than I could in the alloted time!
